The following statement can be attributed to Jill P. Meyer, President & CEO of the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber:
“Last night Congress took action to pass the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, making the largest investment in transportation and infrastructure in modern American history. The Chamber applauds the passage of this bill, and thanks Senator Portman and Senator Brown for their leadership.
This legislation will provide critical investments for the infrastructure needs that are vital to connecting our region. The funding provided will bring the repair and replacement of the Brent Spence Bridge closer to becoming a reality than ever before. It also marks the largest federal investment in public transit while also funding airports, waterways, bike and pedestrian infrastructure, electric vehicle charging stations, and broadband and power infrastructure.
For years, the Chamber has advocated for infrastructure funding, and this bill will make so many of our community’s infrastructure priorities a reality.”
