Metro Seeking Input on MetroRapid

Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) — the high-quality travel option that combines the speed, efficiency and comfort of rail transit with the flexibility of traditional bus service — continues to roll along with a series of community engagement meetings planned for this fall.
These meetings build on earlier community engagement efforts in the first half of 2025 that resulted in nearly 3,000 in-person public engagements with Hamilton County residents interested in helping design MetroRapid stations in their communities.

“In order to advance the project, we have been engaging with the public and community stakeholders to determine precisely where the stations will be located,” said Sharyn LaCombe, Metro’s Senior Director of Bus Rapid Transit.

Based on community feedback, Metro is redesigning the BRT station canopy, reducing the size of the canopy to benefit neighborhood business districts with enhanced sightlines to local businesses. Community engagement also led to the name, MetroRapid, as well as the design and location of BRT stations.
Community stakeholders include landowners, major employers, local businesses, and the University of Cincinnati (UC). Public input will continue to play a key role in developing BRT service in Greater Cincinnati.
Public engagement community meetings begin with two meetings on September 25 at UC’s Tangeman Center and continue throughout October. For a full list of community engagement opportunities, go to https://metrobrtproject.com/participate
“BRT will be a transformational project for our region,” LaCombe said. “It will bring real economic benefits and reinvestment in our neighborhoods that need infrastructure development.”
The first two MetroRapid corridors are slated to be operational in 2028, with the Reading Road corridor being completed in early 2028 and the Hamilton Avenue corridor later in the year. Join us at a community meeting this fall and help shape Cincinnati’s BRT system.
