Civic Strategy & Policy

Civic & Regional Initiatives

The Civic & Regional Initiatives team is responsible for connecting the Cincinnati Chamber and its members to the region’s most pressing economic growth initiatives.

Civic & Regional Initiatives

This team exists to serve as a bridge between the Chamber, its members, and the broader community, ensuring that the Chamber is represented in and/or leading major civic initiatives that impact the growth and economic health of the region.

In October 2024, the Chamber released the Arena Report in collaboration with Visit Cincy, 3CDC, the Port, the Cincinnati Business Committee, and Cincinnati Regional Business Committee in partnership with the City of Cincinnati and Hamilton County. The report underscores the need for a modern arena to replace the nearly 50-year-old Heritage Bank Center and outlines potential site costs and benefits.

Developmental Policy Coalition

The Development Policy Coalition exists to support Chamber members across the real estate, construction, and development sectors. These members accelerate regional population growth, economic development, and cultural vibrancy through the built environment. The Coalition will work to connect industry experts to public sector and civic leaders, foster collaboration across the region, and inform the Chamber’s policy and advocacy work.

Fort Washington Way

Decades ago, civic leaders and community partners had the forethought to invest in foundation piling that would enable a future highway cap on top of Fort Washington Way in downtown Cincinnati. In partnership with business leaders, the City of Cincinnati, and Hamilton County, the Chamber has envisioned a future for Fort Washington Way that includes a 5+ acre public space that reconnects Cincinnati’s riverfront to the urban core.
