UCAN Nonprofit Pet Care Clinic is a nonprofit spray and neuter veterinary. Founded in 2001, UCAN’s mission is to stop the endless cycle of unwanted births of cats and dogs and the resulting euthanasia of those homeless cats and dogs in Greater Cincinnati shelters. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, thanks to generous donors and grants, they are able to save lives of cats and dogs in our community and keep them with the families that love them by:

  • Combating pet overpopulation through spay/neuter surgeries that are low-cost or free to those who cannot afford anything, including families experiencing homelessness and abuse victims living in a temporary shelter.  In addition to preventing unwanted litters of puppies and kittens, surgery enables pets to live longer, healthier lives because surgery eliminates or substantially reduces the risk of certain fatal infections and types of cancer.
  • Humanely stopping the exponential growth of the community cat population by trapping, sterilizing and vaccinating community cats.
  • Preventing costly illnesses by offering low-cost core vaccines.
  • Ensuring pets get back to their owners if lost, rather than entering a shelter, by offering low-cost microchips with lifetime registrations.
  • UCAN has performed over 186,600 spay/neuter surgeries, preventing the births of hundreds of thousands of unwanted cats and dogs. As a result, shelters in Greater Cincinnati are no longer overwhelmed by the sheer number of cats and dogs entering their shelters so have stopped the euthanasia of these animals just for space.

UCAN, a silver member of the Cincinnati Regional Chamber, joined to collaborate with other Cincinnati businesses, including social service agencies whose clients need help with their pets

If you have a pet cat or dog and need financial assistance getting them sterilized, please contact UCAN Nonprofit Pet Care Clinic!  If you love cats and dogs and want to help pet owners that need financial assistance with surgery and core vaccines, please donate at ucancincinnati.org!

We’re thrilled to share one of Cincinnati’s hidden gems with you. If you haven’t discovered Zola’s Avondale Cafe, a Dual Chamber Silver Member, yet you’re in for something special. Walking into Zola’s, everyone feels the energy. The warmth hits you before you even look at the menu – there’s usually music playing, people laughing, and the most incredible aromas coming from the kitchen. This isn’t your typical cafe. It’s a place where Afro-Latino cooking traditions come alive in ways that make us rethink what Cincinnati’s food scene can be.

What we love most about Zola’s is how they’re doing business differently. Every ingredient has a story – they’re working with local farmers and producers right here in our region. And believe us, you can taste the difference. The team in the kitchen takes these fresh, local ingredients and works magic, blending traditional Afro-Latino recipes with modern touches that just work.

But here’s what really excites us: Zola’s has become this amazing gathering spot in Avondale. Stop by during lunch, and you’ll see business meetings happening next to family celebrations, with newcomers and regulars all mixing together. It’s exactly the kind of place that makes our city special.

Next time you’re thinking about where to grab lunch or host a business meeting, give Zola’s a try. Better yet – we’d love to arrange a Chamber meet-up there and introduce you to their team. They’re the kind of business that reminds us why the Chamber exists: to support places that don’t just serve food, but build community. Looking forward to seeing you at Zola’s!

P.S. Chamber members’ tip: Their lunch specials change daily, but if you see the plantain-crusted fish on the menu, don’t think twice – just order it!
