Robie K. Suggs

How many years have you been in the region? My entire life

Robie K. Suggs is President and CEO of Warsaw Federal, an independent mutual bank and Minority Depository Institution based in Cincinnati, Ohio. Previously, Robie served as Chief Lending Officer of the Cincinnati Development Fund. She also held the roles of VP, Strategic Partnerships, and VP, Economic Development and Community Outreach at First Financial Bank. Further, she held positions of increasing responsibility with the former National City Bank and Provident Bank.

Robie received multiple banking certificates and holds a business coaching and mentorship certificate from the University of Cincinnati and was trained in Enneagram at the Conscious Living Center. She is involved with and is a board member in several local organizations. She is the current Board President of the Community Building Institute Middletown and was the past President of HomeBase Cincinnati. Additionally, Robie is a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland’s Community Advisory Board. Additionally, she holds various awards and recognitions from local organizations, most recently receiving the Working in Neighborhood’s (WIN) 2023 Honoree award. She is a member of several boards, including LISC of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, and Homebase Cincinnati. Robie is a seasoned financial services and community leader who provides valuable expertise across the industry, including mortgage banking and operations

I’m a mother, sister, aunt, friend and a lifelong Cincinnatian. I have two sons and a daughter by choice, my daughter in law. I have one fur baby Cooper a Shizu and two grand fur babies, Max and Charlie. My two sisters live in Kansas and Alabama.

What is something that most people do not know about you?
I enjoy spending time alone, I’m an introvert.

What are your personal core values?
Share knowledge when you can, support others, listen to learn.

What is the primary motivation of your leadership?
Support others to grow in their careers. Be a resource not a critic.

What has been the cornerstone of your life journey that influenced your personal mission and purpose?
I lost my mother early in life and I feel that experience shaped my journey. I grew up a little faster.

What piece of advice have you received along the way in your career or life journey that has stuck with you?
Speak up for yourself and tell your own story.

What one thing makes you most proud?
Family and my work.

What’s one thing you do every day (or with consistency) to be a better person?
I’m not sure, I do pray. Faith is important to me.

What are a few resources or behaviors you would recommend to someone looking to grow into a better leader?
Never stop learning and bring someone along as well.

How do you define success?
I’m not sure. I feel I’m still working toward success.

Why do you choose to make the Cincinnati region home?
Family, friends and career.

In what ways are you involved in the Cincinnati community outside of your professional endeavors?
I volunteer with several nonprofits

What do you imagine for the future of the Cincinnati region?
Growth, diversity and innovation. Business and population growth. Diversity of residents and become a leader in innovation that helps to spur the growth.

What legacy do you hope to leave behind?
I hope I will be known for my support of others, I’m responsible and I deliver.
