How many years have you been in the region? 66

Phillip Holloman retired in July of 2018 following a 22-year career with Cintas Corporation, based in Cincinnati, Ohio.  Mr. Holloman, known for his leadership skills at Cintas, rose through many positions including Vice President of Engineering & Construction, Vice President of Distribution & Production Planning, Executive Champion of Six Sigma Initiatives, Senior Vice President of Global Supply Chain Management, Rental Division President & COO and finally, President & COO.

Throughout his career with Cintas, Mr. Holloman either led or was the catalyst behind the following key initiatives: Diversity & Inclusion, Technology Training & Transfer (speed to new plant operating efficiency), Supplier Diversity, Lean Six Sigma, Global Supply Chain Transformation (from red to black), Business Process Transformation enabled by SAP, established a process to Transition the Customer’s Trust from Sales to Service, the Transformation to a Matrix Organizational Structure, achieved World Class Safety Performance and Cross-Selling across siloed business unit customers.

Following are highlights of Mr. Holloman’s accomplishments and contributions:

  • Under his leadership, Cintas’ Engineering and Construction team built 37 new processing facilities over the course of 4 years.
  • As VP of Distribution and Production Planning, Mr. Holloman introduced Cintas to six sigma methodologies and used them to transform the division from operating $7 million in the red to operating $2 million in the black.
  • As Senior Vice President of Global Supply Chain Management, Mr. Holloman’s responsibilities included managing 14 garment manufacturing facilities, 7 distribution centers and overseeing product sourcing from more than 400 vendors in 28 countries.
  • As leader of the Rental Division, Mr. Holloman was instrumental in guiding the division through the Great Recession and helping to position Cintas’ core (and largest) business for even greater success coming out of the economic downturn.
  • As President & COO of Cintas, Mr. Holloman was accountable for each business units’ top line and bottom-line results, which generated almost $6.5 billion in revenue in fiscal year 2018 and grew 21.7% over the prior year.
    • In addition to Mr. Holloman’s business unit responsibilities, he also oversaw the Global Supply Chain organization (GSC) and the following corporate departments: Marketing, Fleet Management, Engineering/Construction, Safety Professionals and Aviation.
  • Also, during his tenure as President & COO, Mr. Holloman oversaw several significant divestiture and merger activities at Cintas:
    • The company exited from its document management business for strategic reasons with proceeds exceeding $1.0 billion.
    • The company acquired ZEE Medical and significantly increased the size and footprint of its first aid and safety business.
    • Most recently, the company acquired G&K Services which increased the size of its rental business by 25%.
