‘As One’: DMG celebrates brand-new HQ at The Foundry

Divisions Maintenance Group was founded in 1999 in a Northern Kentucky basement. The basement of Founder and CEO Gary Mitchell’s mom and stepdad, to be exact. From there, the company grew into a small NKY office with just a few rooms; a renovated mansion in Newport; and then a large office building right on the Ohio River. Earlier this month, DMG’s growth prompted another move — into The Foundry building right across from Fountain Square. See inside the new space.

“It’s been an incredible journey growing from a small startup to where we are today,” said Mitchell, the Founder and CEO. “We’re happy to be part of downtown Cincinnati, and we’re looking forward to being part of this entire region’s growth and success.”

DMG provides facility maintenance services for commercial, industrial and residential multisite organizations nationwide. The company has grown from a small handful of employees to nearly 1,000, about 600 of whom will be working out of the main HQ at The Foundry.

For Cincinnati, DMG’s move means an influx of jobs and energy into downtown’s Central Business District. The Foundry, the former Macy’s department store building at Fifth and Vine streets, is an iconic space, and it’s powerful to see it once again full of life.

For DMG, it’s also about creating room for all local employees to work together under one roof. Before — because of the company’s rapid growth — local employees were split between three different offices. Now, they can work side-by-side in a unified, state-of-the art building.
