Leadership Center

WE Lead

WE Lead is a leadership development program for women that focuses on the whole person, engaging with women leaders, developing strategic goals, and executing on aspirations. WE Lead leans into diversity through its programming, facilitators, experiences, and cohorts.

What is WE Lead?

WE Lead is a 10-month leadership development for women that focuses on the whole person. Participants have space to invest in themselves by tapping into multiple angles of growth, including engaging with other women leaders, developing career, life, and personal goals, and putting those aspirations into action. WE Lead leans into diversity through its programming, facilitators, experiences, and cohorts. See the latest class here.

Program Objectives

  • Become part of a community of women who share stories of perseverance, offer support, and provide counsel on career advancement strategies

  • Build a development plan with sharp vision and mission, accomplishment statements, action steps, and measurements for success

  • Deepen self-awareness of professional/personal strengths and assets and learn tactic to leverage them for career advancement

  • Enhance leadership skills and improve positioning for leadership roles

  • Identify obstacles to professional and personal growth and develop strategies to overcome them

Target Participants
Women leaders — goal-oriented women of all ages, fields of work, and years of experience

Curriculum

The WE Lead Mastermind Coaching process is guided by an impressive team of executive leadership coaches who create a safe and confidential space for important, life-changing conversations to take place.

Program Commitment

  • Kickoff reception
  • Overnight retreat
  • 5 full-day sessions
  • 4 half-day facilitated mastermind group coaching sessions
  • 2 private sessions with a professional coach
  • Graduation ceremony

 

Class 19 Program Timeframe

September 2024 – June 2025

  • September 12, 2024 – Opening Reception & Kickoff (3-5:30 p.m.)
  • September 19-20, 2024 – Overnight Retreat at Hueston Woods (9 a.m. Thursday to 4 p.m. Friday) | Mandatory Attendance
  • October 8, 2024 – Class Session (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.)
  • November 12, 2024 – Coaching Session (8:30 a.m.-noon)
  • December 3, 2024 – Class Session (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.)
  • January 14, 2025 – Coaching Session (8:30 a.m.-noon)
  • February 4, 2025 – Class Session (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.)
  • March 4, 2025 – Coaching Session (8:30 a.m.-noon)
  • April 8, 2025 – Class Session (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.)
  • May 6, 2025 – Coaching Session (8:30 a.m.-noon)
  • May 20, 2025 – Class Session (8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) | Mandatory Attendance
  • June 3, 2025 – Graduation (3-5:30 p.m.)

Sherry Sims is an accomplished human resources professional with over 20 years of experience. Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles in Talent Acquisition and Diversity and Inclusion and has been a catalyst for change. Her implementation of impactful programs has significantly contributed to creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, inspiring others to follow suit.

In addition to her HR career, Sherry is also a dedicated Career Coach and the Founder of Black Career Women’s Network (BCWN), a leading national career development organization for Black women. Since its inception in 2012, BCWN has helped numerous Black women nationwide in overcoming workplace challenges, improving their professional skills, and reaching their career aspirations through professional development programs, coaching, mentoring, and resources.

Sherry has become an expert in the field of Career Development, a fact that has been widely recognized. Her expertise and advice have been featured in digital and print publications such as The New York Times, Essence Magazine, Black Enterprise, MSNBC, USNews, CNBC, and more. Recently, she was awarded the Black Business Hall of Fame by the African American Chamber of Cincinnati and recognized as one of 111 DEI Leaders to watch in 2024.
