Great Living Cincinnatians: Honorees

Celebrating the leadership, vision, tenacity, and love of community shared by the recipients of the Great Living Cincinnatian Award, presented annually by the Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber since 1967.

Henry W. Hobson, Jr.

Awarded In 1992

1922 – 1997

 

Henry Hobson, Jr. maintained a successful legal practice while devoting time to a number of business and civic organizations over the years.

A 1948 graduate of the University of Cincinnati Law School, he became senior partner with the law firm of Frost & Jacobs in 1986.

He was trustee and president of the Thomas J. Emery Memorial; executive committee member and former chairman of the Cincinnati chapter of the American Red Cross; member of the President’s Council and former chairman, the Dan Beard Council, Boy Scouts of America.

Mr. Hobson died Thursday, September 18, 1997 at his Indian Hill home. He was 75.

Recipients are selected from candidates by the Cincinnati Chamber’s senior council based on the following criteria: – Community service – Business and civic attainment on a local, state and national or international level – Leadership – Awareness of the needs of others – Distinctive accomplishments that have brought favorable attention to their community, institution or organization
