Officer Hawkins joined the Cincinnati Police force in 1999 and has spent the last 19 years of his 22-year career with the Youth Services Unit as a School Resource Officer.  In this position Officer Hawkins has taken full advantage of his passion to help Cincinnati’s youth reach their full potential.

In his current role as Youth Programs Coordinator he designs and oversees several programs giving youth a platform to engage in courageous conversations with law enforcement officers and help them to find solutions to at times extremely complex problems.  Each program Officer Hawkins has designed has a purpose of changing the outcome of at-risk youth and helping them find their successful path in life.

Although Officer Hawkins runs many programs there are a few that are near to his heart.

The Captain Kimberly Williams C.I.T.I Camp; a 10-week camp for children ages 10-12, who have experienced trauma and need a little extra attention to find their path in life.  This camp was renamed in 2021 to honor Captain Kimberly Williams who lost her battle to Breast cancer and was the First African American Female Captain.  Captain Williams was also very instrumental in helping the CITI camp program throughout the years.

The Young Not Silent Youth Conference, a daylong event that hosts over 500 youth each year, from the tristate area, allowing them to participate in discussions covering a wide range of topics.

The Police Cadet Program which employees over 100 youth every year from ages 16-18 allowing them the opportunity to work side by side with law enforcement officers in an academy-like setting allowing them to walk away with a true understanding of police work.

The DIVERIGHT Program, which was created by Officer Hawks a few years back, is a youth flag football program in partnership with the Cincinnati Bengals, Juvenile Court, Cincinnati Recreation & the Cincinnati Police Department.  This program allows young people to interact with Cincinnati Bengals Players and law enforcement officials in flag football games held at Paul Brown stadium after having discussions surrounding diversity & social Justice. DIVERIGHT stands for “Diversity Done the Right Way”.

These programs are each in addition to his daily role as Resource Officer where he comes to the aid of children in the Public-School system and finds creative ways to help the students along with their parents.

In 2014 Officer Hawkins started No Excuse College Tours & Programs, LLC which provides an opportunity for 10th – 12th graders to explore post-graduation options by visiting Universities, outside of our area, during a seven-day trip.

Officer Hawkins is committed to making our City better and continues to help not only in his capacity as a Law Enforcement Officer but has also worked closely with organizations like, Keep America Beautiful, Free Store Foodbank and Black Art Speaks.
