United Way Celebrates Businesses That Give Back

United Way of Greater Cincinnati celebrates businesses and organizations making a difference. Through Workplaces That Care® and Changemakers Awards, we honor those whose generosity and volunteerism strengthen our community and create lasting change.

The challenges our community faces are complex and interconnected. At United Way of Greater Cincinnati, we tackle those challenges by focusing on educational success, financial empowerment and housing security, but we know we can’t address those issues alone. Fortunately, we don’t have to.

Our partners within our nine-county service area in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana include individuals, businesses and organizations whose efforts are evident every day — in donated dollars that change lives, in volunteer hours that improve neighborhoods, and in passionate advocacy that positively impacts policy.

We believe it’s important to recognize our partners for making a difference in our community. We did so on March 18 at our United We Celebrate event, where awards were presented in two categories.

Workplaces That Care® spotlighted United Way’s Top 25 and Tremendous 25 corporate campaigns — those businesses with the highest total giving and those with the highest per-capita giving, respectively. We also recognized new businesses that recently joined United Way in its mission of building a thriving community for all.

Changemakers Awards honored five businesses that support a culture of volunteerism within their organizations. Honorees logged the most per-capita volunteer hours in categories based on number of employees. In addition, Changemakers honored a grassroots nonprofit organization that demonstrated innovative ways to uplift its community and neighbors.

The collective impact of the honorees is helping build a future where everyone can thrive. We welcome others to join us in this effort.
