One of our core functions at the Cincinnati Regional Chamber is to advocate for our members and our region’s business community at-large. Our Government Affairs and Advocacy team – led by my colleague Liz Keating – works hard to ensure that your voices are heard at all levels of government, shaping policies that foster growth, innovation, and a thriving economic environment.
In our ever-evolving political landscape, staying informed about policy developments and advocacy efforts is more important than ever. That’s why I am excited to introduce you to The Pulse – our Policy Updates and Legislative Strategies E-newsletter. The Pulse will provide you with timely updates, analysis, and insights on the legislative and regulatory issues that impact our region. The Pulse is designed to be your go-to resource for understanding the nuances of government actions and their implications for your business. Through this newsletter, we aim to keep you connected and informed about the issues that matter most.
Speaking of cultural vibrancy, the Cincinnati Music Festival begins tonight. I touched on CMF's importance to our region in last week's newsletter. I encourage you to visit their website and check out everything else that's happening surrounding the event downtown this weekend. It's truly not to be missed.

Among all of the indicators that the Center for Research and Data tracks on a regular basis, public safety is one of the biggest strengths for the Cincinnati region. The region ranks very well among our peer metros when it comes to both violent and property crime – ranking third lowest in both categories. The Cincinnati region sees 1.85 violent crimes per 1,000 population, and 11.9 property crimes per 1,000 population. Only the Baltimore and Pittsburgh metropolitan areas perform better, and many nearby metros perform much worse than the Cincinnati region. This is not a new development either, as the Cincinnati region consistently ranks as one of the safest metro areas in the United States.
