UCAN Nonprofit Pet Care Clinic

UCAN Nonprofit Pet Care Clinic is a nonprofit spray and neuter veterinary. Founded in 2001, UCAN’s mission is to stop the endless cycle of unwanted births of cats and dogs and the resulting euthanasia of those homeless cats and dogs in Greater Cincinnati shelters. As a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, thanks to generous donors and grants, they are able to save lives of cats and dogs in our community and keep them with the families that love them by:

  • Combating pet overpopulation through spay/neuter surgeries that are low-cost or free to those who cannot afford anything, including families experiencing homelessness and abuse victims living in a temporary shelter.  In addition to preventing unwanted litters of puppies and kittens, surgery enables pets to live longer, healthier lives because surgery eliminates or substantially reduces the risk of certain fatal infections and types of cancer.
  • Humanely stopping the exponential growth of the community cat population by trapping, sterilizing and vaccinating community cats.
  • Preventing costly illnesses by offering low-cost core vaccines.
  • Ensuring pets get back to their owners if lost, rather than entering a shelter, by offering low-cost microchips with lifetime registrations.
  • UCAN has performed over 186,600 spay/neuter surgeries, preventing the births of hundreds of thousands of unwanted cats and dogs. As a result, shelters in Greater Cincinnati are no longer overwhelmed by the sheer number of cats and dogs entering their shelters so have stopped the euthanasia of these animals just for space.

UCAN, a silver member of the Cincinnati Regional Chamber, joined to collaborate with other Cincinnati businesses, including social service agencies whose clients need help with their pets

If you have a pet cat or dog and need financial assistance getting them sterilized, please contact UCAN Nonprofit Pet Care Clinic!  If you love cats and dogs and want to help pet owners that need financial assistance with surgery and core vaccines, please donate at ucancincinnati.org!
